Music is a big part of Miranda Chipman’s life. She enjoys playing in her free time and participates in band, playing the baritone. She also plays the bass guitar in jazz band. Chipman said she is proud of becoming the drum captain in band.

Throughout high school, Chipman has had the opportunity to travel to many places across the United States. She went to San Diego for a vacation and said the beach was “lots of fun.” She also traveled to New York City for a band/choir trip and said that when she found out she was going, she couldn’t wait to tell her parents and see their reaction.

Another activity Chipman takes part in is choir. She sings alto in concert choir but when it comes to show choir, she plays drums in the pit. Chipman discovered her love for music in first grade and her talent began to show when she joined band to become a percussionist in sixth grade. Her inspiration to become so musically invested came from her piano teacher. Although Chipman strived to be a rock star when she was younger, she now plans to attend DMACC to become a veterinarian technician.
