Boy-Girl Doubleheader to Take Place in Creston

Tonight, Feb. 5, the 2-16 Atlantic girls basketball team will travel to Creston in a boy-girl doubleheader.
The girls will be taking on the 7-12 Panthers who are coming 0ff a loss to Red Oak. The girls are coming off of a home loss to Abraham Lincoln.
Junior Baylee Newell is the leading scorer for the Trojans, averaging 9.8 points a game with a total of 24 three-pointers so far this season. Sophomore Mckenzie Waters is not far behind, with an average of 9.1 points per game and 164 total points on the year.
Brielle Baker is the leading scorer for the Panthers, averaging 18.5 points per game. Kelsey Fields leads Creston with 149 total rebounds on the year.
Tip-off will be at 6:00 p.m. at Creston High School.
The 10-7 Trojan boys will also travel to Creston tonight for the doubleheader. The Panthers are 7-10 but are coming off from a win against Red Oak, 70-33.
Creston’s leading scorer, junior Kylan Smallwood, has an average of 23.9 points per game even after being suspended for the first eight games of the season. He and fellow senior Tucker Flynn are back and will be playing tonight.
