Atlantic Plays Hard but Loses a Tough One to Harlan

For the last game of the season the Harlan Cyclones traveled to Atlantic to take on the 5-3 trojans. Harlan coming was 7-1 with there only loss coming to Lewis Central in the first game of the season.

In the first half the teams battled back and forth, forcing each other to punt on each of there first couple drives. By the end of the first half the score had been knotted up at 0-0. Going into the second half the game was up for grabs and could go either way. On the cyclones first possession they marched down the field and were able to put up 7 points. Atlantic was unable to score throughout the half and the Harlan offense was too much. The cyclones had scored 2 more touchdowns throughout the half and came away with a win in Atlantic’s final game of the season. The final score was 22-0 and the trojans record fell to 5-4.

Senior quarterback Jaxson Eden finished the game going 25-48 through the air for 198 yards. Senior Noah Bruckner led the rushing game with only 16 yards on 5 carries. Junior Logan Reilly had a great game again and led Atlantic in receiving yards with 69 on only 2 catches. Sophomore Tyler Moen recorded 35 yards on 4 catches. Senior MLB Brady Dickerson finished his outstanding year strong leading the team in tackles with 6.0 and 1 tackle for loss.

Harlan will play Bishop-Heelan in the first playoff game while the trojans are done for the year.
