Sarah Fixmer plans to attend Midland University in the fall of 2017. Fixmer lived in Indianola when she was two, and moved to Atlantic after. She lives with her parents, Jeff and Heather Lundquist, and her cat, Dexter and her dog, Oliver. She has one sister, Pammy.

Fixmer’s favorite activity throughout high school was the musical. She participated in show choir and vocal choir all 4 years. She also participated in the musical her sophomore, junior and senior year too. “Singing makes me happy, and I love showing off the hard work we put in for months.” Her favorite memory in high school was when the golf team won state her freshman and junior year. “It was the best feeling in the world because you work all season to get to the top, and when you finally finish it off, it feels like a million bucks.” Throughout school, the one teacher who made the most impact on her was, of course, Mrs. Lundquist, her mom. One of the most proudest moments for Fixmer was being on honor roll all four years of high school.

After graduating from Atlantic High School in May 2017, Fixmer will attend Midland University in fall of 2017 for Communications and Journalism. “I’m excited for my journey at Midland, and to see what the future holds for me.” Fixmer was accepted to Midland in mid November of 2016. She decided on communications and journal when she joined journalism her junior year, and learned that it’s what she loves to do. In 10 years, Fixmer sees herself as a radio broadcaster or anchor. When Fixmer was younger, she wanted to be a princess. If Fixmer could have one do-over in life, it would be to spend more time with her grandma Charlotte.
