Cody Buchman is an athletic and smart man that pushes himself to the limits. He hasn’t always been a Trojan though; Buchman moved from Worthington, Minnesota. He currently lives with his mom, and has one dog named Tebow, named after Tim Tebow, as well as two cats Tabby and Bella. Buchman also has two siblings, Jerrod and Dan.

Buchman grew up watching Brett Favre. He said, “I grew up watching him stomp the Vikings.” He wanted to be a cop when he was younger, “Originally, my brother was going to be a DNR officer and my grandfather was a K-9 officer for 20 years.” He said he wants to, “work as a Sheriff or State Trooper.” He also said he wants to, “join the Army Reserves and attend Iowa Western or Iowa Central for criminal justice.”

Buchman’s most impactful teacher is Mr. Wiley; Buchman said, “he has taught me a lot.” He also said that Mr. Miller and Señor Vargason have influenced him a lot over the years.

Buchman’s favorite high school moment is when he finally got the varsity shuttle hurdle spot after practicing extremely hard. On the first meet that he had run, his team was ahead by about two hurdles, and Buchman was going over the last hurdle when his trail leg (the last leg to get over the hurdle) got caught on the hurdle making him “eat dirt” and fall, losing the race and getting disqualified for falling out of his lane. That didn’t cause him to give up. He came to practice the next day and worked extra hard on hurdles, and showed improvement at the next meet.
