Which class will win this year’s Loose-Change competition?

During third period on Thursday, Nov. 19, loose change was brought into classes to be counted. The third period with the most change was English teacher Emma Walker’s junior English class with $67.30.  In second place was Allison Berryhill’s English 9 class with $58. The  third-place finishers were Eric Miller’s farm management class with $48.46. The total amount collected was $375.08.

Where does all this change go? Student Council adviser Pat Wiederien said this year’s event raised money to buy winter outerwear for Washington Elementary School students.

“They go outside to play for recess and some of the students come without boots, snow pants and winter coats,” Wiederien said. Now when they need winter clothes to play be able to play outside they can go to the nurse’s office and borrow the winter outerwear.
