Trojans Fall Against the Cyclones

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Atlantic girls basketball team faced the Harlan Cyclones. The ending score was 67-24, the Cyclones with the win. The Atlantic girls record now stands as 4-7.

In the first quarter, both teams came out with a good start, having high intensity and good ball movement; but the Cyclones soon had a significant lead by the half.  The Cyclones have many offensive and defensive weapons, including Jess Schaben, who is 6’4”, and Taylor Fredrick, who is averaging 13.6 points per game.

By the end of the game the Cyclones had a dramatic lead, but the Trojans kept high intensity and finished out the rest of the game, ending at 67-24.

Coach Juhl said, “We need to be ready to go on Friday night. We won last time against Denison, but we need to come out strong and be ready to play.“

The next game was on Friday, Jan. 9 against the Denison-Schleswig Lady Monarchs, which resulted in a 57-52 win.  A story will be posted later this week.
