Here is to the beginning of a new meet, season, and year. It’s finally time for wrestling!

On Monday, Dec. 1, the new Atlantic High School wrestling team had wrestle offs to determine who would wrestle at which weight. Matches started at 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Atlantic High School.

There are a total of 29 wrestlers taking part in the sport this year, consisting of seven seniors, four juniors, seven sophomores, and 11 freshmen.

Assistant coach Drew Duff said, “The kids had high effort and worked hard.” Duff also said he is most excited to watch the guys improve throughout the 2014-2015 wrestling season.

The Trojans will kick off their season Thursday night in Griswold at 5:30 p.m. The Trojans will be facing the Audubon Wheelers as well as the Griswold Tigers.
