Boys tennis tame the Panthers

On April 4, the Atlantic Trojans Boys Tennis team traveled to Creston to face the Panthers in their second meet of the season.  The Trojans challenged Creston with already one win against the Kuemper Knights. They knew Creston was going to be a veteran team with all six varsity members being seniors.

The Trojans start off with Junior Tyler Fischer getting a big win at number one singles.  With Noah Welter and Nick Podhajsky having to fight back from being down early to get the victory at number two and six singles.  At number five singles Adam had a early 5-0 and let his opponent get back into the match, but Adam still got the victory.  Jake Arneson and Scott Caslow had tough opponents who played hard the entire match leaving Atlantic players with a loss.  At the end of singles the Trojans were up 4-2 just needing one more victory to seal the deal.

Number one doubles had their hands full with a close match until the end when they got the victory to seal the win for the Trojans, but the Trojans weren’t done yet.  The number two doubles team got a big win against a good doubles team.  The doubles team had a close match but couldn’t pull out the win and  loss.  The Trojans won the meet 6-3 winning there second straight meet.

The Trojans will host the Glenwood Rams Tuesday, April 9.
