The Atlantic High School and the USTA officials are reviewing plans for Atlantic’s Sunnyside tennis courts.

Atlantic Park and Recreation Director Roger Herring reported to the Park and Recreation Board Monday night that USTA officials were reviewing plans for the Sunnyside tennis Courts project.  Herring said he would consider two of the three courts “unplayable due to hazards, like cracks.”

In February Herring asked district officials to pay for 50 percent of the Sunnyside tennis court project.  He said construction would cost $207,115 and engineering would cost $34,900.  The total cost is $242,015.  With possible grants of $50,000 from the USTA and $15,000 Missouri Valley Grant, the total cost for the city and schools would be $177,015.  Herring suggested that School District Officials paid $88,507 for the project.
