Sam Coder has participated in band, choir and NHS. His favorite activity is anything involving music. Coder has two siblings, Austin and Jared, as well as a dog named Indie. Coder’s favorite school memory was participating in the NCACDA honor choir in 7th grade. “The ride up to Wisconsin was the best part; it was a lot of fun,” Coder said.

Coder’s said his role model is none other than Gratt Reed. “Gratt is a kind and thoughtful person, and he’s good at everything, especially making people smile.” Coder enjoys playing video games with friends, and anything musical. “Mr. O’Donnell has made the most impact on me. I’ve always enjoyed music, and it’s a lot of fun with Mr. O’Donnell.” Coder said.

Coder’s plans after high school include attending Iowa State University for a 4-year degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical engineering. He decided on this major because, “I really enjoyed chemistry when I took it, and I excel in math and science.” The moment that Coder knew this would be for him happened when he was in chemistry. Coder was working on a lab experiment and he was able to get it to work. It was at that moment that he decided chemistry was his thing.
