When classmates and community members heard Garrett Franken’s name, they mostly thought about how tall he is (6’ 7”) or that he was a basketball player. Franken played basketball, baseball and football throughout his high school career. He decided to play football his senior year. Franken plans to attend North Dakota University after graduating, and major in business management and play basketball. When he was younger, he imagined himself as an orthodontist.

Franken’s favorite high school memory was when he hit two buzzer beaters back-to-back years against Saint Albert. He was most proud of driving his 2000 Buick LeSabre. If he had 1 million dollars, he would buy a house, car and “some kicks.” His top three favorite books throughout his life are Touching Spirit Bear, Where the Red Fern Grows and The Great Gatsby.

Garrett has two parents, Greg and Tina. He also has two siblings Dalton and Jordan along with a dog named Reggie. If he could go back and change something, it would be to play football all four years of high school. The highlight of his days at AHS was seeing Ms. Walker everyday.
