BBB: Atlantic Looks to Keep Pace With Hawkeye Ten Leaders

Kuemper Catholic and Lewis Central lead the Hawkeye Ten conference while Atlantic seeks to keep pace with those teams.

The Atlantic Trojans boys basketball team is set to host Creston on Monday night. The Creston Panthers are 9-8 this season coming off a one game loss to the Glenwood Rams. Creston fell short to the Rams at home losing 46-68.

 

The last time the Panthers and the Trojans held a matchup, the Trojans defeated Creston at home winning 65-60. The Panthers’ season was full of ups and downs before going on a five-game win streak.

 

The Trojans currently stand third in the Hawkeye Ten with a 12-4 record. Kuemper Catholic and Lewis Central lead the conference respectively with a 14-2 and a 12-2 record.

 

Atlantic senior Garrett Franken leads the Hawkeye Ten Conference in scoring. Franken averages 24.4 points-per-game and shoot 52 percent from the field while shooting 72 percent from the line.

 

Junior Austin Alexander of Atlantic leads the Hawkeye Ten in three-point percentage (of players with at least 10 three-point attempts). Alexander also is tied for third in the conference for assists with 68 this season.
Franken holds the three spot while junior Scott Leonard holds fourth in the conference with 150 and 143 rebounds each respectively. Franken has 115 defensive rebounds while Leonard has 66 offensive boards.
