On Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22-23, the Trojans wrestled in the John J. Harris Invitational at Corning. Overall the Trojans wrestled well, placing third out of 22 teams.

The only teams to beat the Trojans were Creston who won, and New Hampton taking second. Sophomore John McConkey was the only champion for the Trojans, but AHS  had five wrestlers who were runner-up.

Those wrestlers were sophomore Kole Hansen; juniors Carter Cox, Drake Roller, and Zac Stork; and senior Keagan Hosfelt.

Stork said, “We now know who we have to beat to go to State.” The Trojans face the Harlan Cyclones and Denison-Schleswig Monarchs on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
