Better Loss Than Last Year Against Glenwood

The Atlantic boys tennis team took on the Glenwood Rams tennis team on Tuesday. The top 4 varsity singles players played at the Washington courts, and the number 5 on down played at the Sunnyside courts. All of the varsity doubles teams played at Washington. All 10 games were played with add, meaning when the score hits 40-40, also known as deuce, the player must win by 2 points to win the game.

The Trojans lost 3-6, which was a little better than last years loss of 1-8. Number 1 senior Nick Podhajsky def Sam Lauritsen, 10-3. Number 2 freshman Grant Podhajsky def Alex Chekal, 10-6. 3 Aaron Beritini def senior Ben Parker, 10-2. 4 Adam Reclar def senior Kyle Krueger, 11-10 in a 7 point tie breaker. 5 Ethan Thompson def senior Cain Stuart, 10-3. 6 Adam Konfist def freshman Cooper McDermott ,10-8.

The number 1 doubles team of (Nick) Podhajsky and (Grant) Podhajsky defeated Lauritsen/Chekal, 10-7. The number 2 doubles team of Parker/Krueger lost to Bertini/Reclar, 3-10. McDermott/freshman Luke Hohenberger lost to Thompson/Konfist, 10-6.

The Trojans are going to need to have short term memory though, because they travel to Carroll Kuemper Thursday to take on the Knights.
