The Trojan boys basketball team traveled to Clarinda last night and took on the Cardinals. Clarinda’s said to be best player was in this time, but that made no difference in the outcome as the Trojans cruised to an easy 33 point victory with a final score of 72-39. It was a good team win as everyone on the bench got in some playing time in the final minutes of the game.

The Cardinals didn’t just roll over, though, as at the end of the first quarter was 23-11. It was the second quarter when the Trojans pulled away, outscoring them 26-10, and leading 49-21 at the end of the first half.

Despite the lead, the Trojans and the Cardinals played hard until the very end. The Trojans outscored them, 14-9 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth, the starters were taken out and bench players got their chance for some varsity playing time. Senior Kyle Krueger and freshmen Scott Leonard and Grant Podhajsky scored a combined seven points.

There’s not much time to celebrate this win, because the Trojans will be facing Treynor Friday night in our home gym. The Trojan Mob is encouraged to attend and be loud and proud for our boys, as this is a big game and a chance for the Trojans to take down a solid 17-2 team.
