Hannah Maley

Hannah Maley, Editor

Hannah Maley is an editor for the school yearbook, The Javelin. Maley wrote a story about the new teachers, where she went around and talked to all the teachers about where they’re from. She said “we had to type out everything they said.” When she was a sophomore, Maley said, she got to take pictures of all the prom couples. These are the two things she’s most proud of in her journalism career. Maley said her favorite part of journalism is going behind the scenes at football games. “Going to a football game you get in free and you can just be in the background, getting information even though you aren’t talking to anyone.”

If Hannah Maley could have one talent without trying, it would be the power to fill out her homework effortlessly. Although Hannah describes herself as smart and competitive, she would rather be in her room, playing video games and “blasting” rock music.

Maley loves her friends dearly. Her phone lockscreen is a picture of her with friends Abbey Bishop and Summer Petty, and she says one of the only people who understands her best is “Yabba” (Bishop). Maley said her friends would describe her as very energetic, and that she always brings a smile to their faces when they’re having a bad day.

Maley said she would never change her personality. “I love caring for people and making them feel happy. I care so much about others that I care more about them than myself, but I tend to keep myself happy as well. I feel like if I wasn’t like that, I wouldn’t be able to make people as happy as they make me.” One thing Maley said most people don’t know about her is that she’s diabetic. “I’ve been diabetic for almost nine years now.”

Maley said, “I look up to my grandpa. He was the most patient man in the world. He ignored drama, he cared a lot about people. He was just really nice to everyone.”
