Erik Ramirez, AHS Needle Junior Editor
Junior Erik Ramirez is an editor for the AHS Needle newspaper. He first got involved because he heard about it through friends and family. He also wanted to “be a part of a community in school.” The best part of being in journalism is the “freedom and independence in it. You get to come up with your own ideas, be creative and just have fun. Ramirez’s favorite memory is going to the IHSPA Conference last year because it was “fun to be around people who were interested in journalism and just learn more about writing and other aspects.”
Outside of journalism, he enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with family and friends, and listening to music. Ramirez has an older sister, Korina, who is 19 years old, and a younger brother, Marko, who is 12 years old. He is still exploring and figuring out what to do in the future. However, some form of writing or journalism is definitely “a possibility” to be an aspect of a future career.
