For many students, summer isn’t just a break from school; it’s an opportunity to discover new places and check off destinations from their bucket list, whether it’s a weekend road trip to a nearby city or catching a plane to a different state. There are many fun and unique places that staff and students enjoy visiting and traveling to. Summer offers a chance to make lasting memories in new places.
Sophomore Erik Ramirez is heading to Mexico on their annual trip to see family members. “I really enjoy going to Mexico because it’s like a whole new world to experience.” Ramirez goes to Mexico every other year to visit family members. He has been to mexico 5 times and he said “my favorite trip made there was the most recent one because, im older now and i can be more independent while i’m there.” while in mexico ramirez and his family, go to the beach, hang out with their relatives, try new foods, and enjoy Mexico.
Sam Gunderson, a paraeducator, is heading to Kansas this summer with her three sons. Every year, they have a family reunion in Clay City, Kansas. However, this year, they are going to the Mall of America to see their family. Mrs.Sam is staying in Kansas for a week. She said, “I’m most excited to swim, spend time with my family, and go to the county fairs.”
Shelbi Meyer, a sophomore in AHS, is going to a lake house in Omaha, Nebraska, this summer with her boyfriend, Chance, and his family. She said, “I’m most excited about getting away for a while and not being home.” “I enjoy swimming, tubing, water skiing, and fishing, so it should be a lot of fun.”
AHS is enjoying a lot of new and fun places this summer, and staff and students are talking about the trips they plan on making in the upcoming season. We are excited to hear all about her exciting trips they’ve enjoyed when we return for the 2025-2026 school year. People often discuss where the best places to travel are. Maggie Cohrs, a sophomore in AHS, said, “ I loved visiting the Bahamas; the people there were the nicest people I’ve ever met.” She said, “It’s a very clean place and it’s by far the best place I’ve ever visited.”
