Your hair type is special, and hair types are unique and different for everyone. A style that has recently become very common and popular again is the slick-back. The slick-back hairstyle became known in the early 1920s. To give you a little history on this specific hairstyle, a slick-back is when your hair is either up in a high bun or ponytail or in a low bun or ponytail, with your hair being tight and very smooth and tied all together.
This style has become very common in sports and activities for example dance, gymnastics, track, basketball, etc. It is often categorized as a “clean” look and as Jaydin Nowatzke said, “It makes me feel put together.” Many materials are needed to complete the look of a perfect slick back; such as gel, multiple hairbrushes, hair ties, hairspray, and bobby pins. There are other tools and items you can use to make it look the way you want but it is not a need.
A slick-back can be hard to accomplish depending on your hair type but there is no need to overthink it just do it to the best of your ability and your liking. This type of hairstyle just gives off a clean and organized look. Jayci Reed said that “trying to get a perfect slick back can be very difficult because it hurts your arms and feels like a workout” It has become very common for teenage girls to wear their hair like this and many like how it looks, and it has become a big trend around the world.
