SHIFT ATL is made up of many women who strive to make the community a better place.

In the last 40 years, the community of Atlantic has loved and cherished the locally owned Sunnyside Putt-Em-Up mini golf course. When the recent owners decided to step down from the business, SHIFT ATL was ready to step in. “Taking over Putt-Putt fit in our mission,” said Jessie Shiels, co-founder of SHIFT ATL. No one was ready to see Putt-Putt go and neither were the women of SHIFT. These ladies are up for the challenge!

SHIFT ATL is an organization run by young mothers trying to keep our “community developing,” said Shiels. It was established in 2019 with the hopes to have the people of Atlantic “plugged into the community.” SHIFT ATL has hosted many different events and fundraisers like their yearly turkey trot taking place on Thanksgiving morning and also the summer soirée. 100% of all donations earned by SHIFT ATL get put toward their operating funds. If you would like to donate you can check it out on their website.

The co-owners of SHIFT are young mothers who have recently moved to the area or have grown up in Atlantic. The ladies of SHIFT are always looking for fun activities they can do with their children and families. They are all about helping the community and bringing young families to Atlantic. They always try to keep “small-town pride,” in the community. In the next five years, SHIFT ATL hopes Atlantic will be filled with places to shop, eat, and activities to keep the people of Atlantic involved in the community.

Putt-Em-Up hopes to be developing endlessly within the next few years. SHIFT ATL wants the mini golf course to be an enjoyable environment that provides the people of Atlantic and the surrounding areas something fun to do! With “big ideas and dreams,” Shiels said. The renovations for Putt-Em-Up are still in the works. The driving range will be staying, but people will have to wait and see what furry friends will be in the barn and pasture.
