The volleyball seniors have packed away their knee pads and spandex. After their four years as Trojans, Emma Templeton, Chloe Davis, and Kenzie Waters are saying goodbye to the volleyball court.  Together the three seniors made some lifelong memories while competing in a sport they all enjoy, starting at a very young age.

Starting their high school career, the three seniors played crucial roles on the junior varsity and varsity teams.  The three seniors put up outstanding numbers throughout their career with a total of 351 kills, 62 aces, 34 assists, 77 blocks, and 838 digs in a total of 384 matches played.

They were also complimented on their leadership as being awarded captain status their junior and senior years. Many awards were also handed out to these seniors based on their hard work.

“Overall I think our season went pretty well, we played a lot of teams really close,” Waters said. Davis commented on how the group of girls accomplished a variety of their goals from the beginning of the season. This includes the curse-breaking conference win over Creston in five sets on Oct. 1. The Trojan volleyball team hadn’t topped a conference challenger since 2011. All three girls cite this moment as one of their favorite memories throughout their four years on the team. Templeton also said she enjoyed all the fun times had off the court with her teammates, including team meals and bus rides.

The seniors ended their volleyball career in Red Oak on Oct. 23 in the first round of regional play. Atlantic finished the season with a record of 6-36.
