The Atlantic NHS chapter is hosting their first blood drive of the year on Tuesday. Students, staff, and community members can donate anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the gym.

As usual, the blood drive is through the Red Cross. NHS members will be present to check in students and offer up snacks and beverages. Those who donate may take time to rest before returning to class, in order to prevent feelings of lightheadedness.

Individuals who plan on donating should drink lots of water before their donation time. Hydration makes it easier for the Red Cross’ technicians to find a vein, and thus simplifies the process of giving blood. Also, a form of identification is required.

Walk-ins are welcome at the blood drive. Those with scheduled times are encouraged to show up early, so the process of check in and the health history briefing can get underway.
