Speech and Debate Compete at Lincoln Railsplitter
AHS students traveled to Des Moines for yet another competition.

The AHS speech and debate team has competed in their third straight weekend of competition in December at the Lincoln Railsplitter Speech Debate Tournament in Des Moines. Held on Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15, seven Trojans competed in their respective events, with four earning top-five finishes. Kobe Moss finished first in the Poetry competition and Genevieve Martinez fifth in POI. Sarah Schorle and Troy Roach finished third with their duo piece, with Schorle also earning a fourth-place finish in POI and second in Student Congress. Roach competed in Student Congress as well and finished fourth.
The next competition will be Jan. 4 and 5 for the State Debate Tournament at the DMACC campus in Ankeny.
