Everyone has someone that is meaningful to them. For Summer Petty, her parents have made a huge impact on her life. Petty said she has “lots of family,” including her mom and dad, two sisters Amanda and Tiffany, and two brothers Anthony and Cody. She also has many nieces and two nephews.

Finding out her dad had cancer was a big moment for Petty because it was very sad and she almost lost him a few times. “I get emotional every time someone talks about cancer and every time he is in the hospital because you never know what is going to happen,” Petty said.

When she was younger, Petty wanted to be a nurse. Now she wants to go to Iowa Western and get her paraprofessional educator’s license. Petty’s favorite school memory is from her sophomore year when she made it on the cheer team.

One event Petty is proud of is when “the cheerleaders and basketball players got to go to State.” In her free time, she participates in cheerleading and enjoys drawing, hunting, mudding and listening to music. Petty said her favorite place to relax is her room.
