Boys’ Golf Delivers Hawkeye Ten Title

On Monday, the boys’ golf team brought home yet another Hawkeye Ten Conference title with a team score of 295, finishing four strokes ahead of second place finisher Kuemper.

Sophomore Cyle Renaud was runner-up with a 69, losing to Ryan Leath of Glenwood in a play off hole.

Most importantly, that is back to back Conference titles for the Trojans. Last year Junior Ben Renaud won conference, this year,  Cyle Renaud finishes second by one stroke in play-off.

Freshman Braden Smith played a pivotal role shooting a 79 shooting his best score of the year. Junior Matt Gearheart finished his round with a 72, Renaud shot a 75, Goergen 82, and Austin Alexander finished his round with a 85.

Coach Ed Den Beste said he was very proud of the team and said that they had to shoot well today to win and that’s exactly what they did.
