Tyler Thomas enjoys reading, playing catch with his brothers, drawing and spending time with friends and family. Thomas has four brothers and one sister and said his brother Blake has had an impact on his life. “My brother has always protected me,” Thomas said.

When he was younger, Thomas wanted to be a firefighter. “I liked seeing the firefighters go by on their trucks during a parade,” he said. However, he is now planning to become a chef after attending college. Thomas said, “I took foods class in high school and it seemed fun to do.”

Currently, Thomas is employed at Atlantic Specialty Care. If he could do any other job, he said he would work at a nursing home. “I want to work at my same job helping the elderly people at the nursing home,” Thomas said.

Going out for eighth grade football for the first time is a favorite school memory of Thomas and he is proud of getting good grades. He also said he likes to “sit on the couch with a good book.” Finally reaching senior year was an impactful moment in his life. “I worked hard to get here,” Thomas said.

Before he leaves the high school, Thomas said he would like to see all of his friends “for the last time.” A piece of advice he would give to all eighth graders as they move on to high school is to “stay on track and do your homework.” According to Thomas, school is “nice and very helpful.”
