Boys’ Tennis Takes Down Kuemper in First Home Meet

The boys’ tennis team hosted Kuemper for their first home meet of the year yesterday, Thursday, April 12. The boys are coming off a tough loss to Glenwood of 5-4.

The boys took down the Knights by a score of 7-2, recording just two losses for the night. Senior Grant Podhajsky dropped the number one spot match by a score of 10-4. The rest of the team closed out their singles matches with a highlight from senior Kalob Flory, who closed out his single match by a score of 10-1. Sophomore Nile Petersen also had a blowout win by a score of 10-2.

Two of the three duos came away with a match win last night. The top duo team of Podhajksy and senior Cooper McDermott are continuing to tear it up and defeated Kuemper’s top duo by a score of 10-7. Petersen and Flory won by a score of 10-8 and senior Luke Hohenberger and senior Jake Redler lost a tough one by a score of 11-10.

Their next meet will be Tuesday, April 17 against the Denison Monarchs at Washington Elementary.
