Sergeant Nathan Allen, a former student of Atlantic High School, was a guest speaker today, March 26, in Terry Hinzmann’s Modern World History class. Hinzmann likes to invite realistic speakers in order to give his classes first-hand accounts of events that have happened during different wars. Sergeant Allan completed a tour in Afghanistan and while he was there he was shot in the arm. The bullet went completely through his arm until it traveled to his side and ricocheted. Allan’s tour ended March 29, 2011. This Thursday is the 7th anniversary of the battle he was involved in, chronicled by the Hornet’s Nest documentary.
