An increased presence of police officers patrolling the hallways of  Atlantic High School has left students wondering why. Outbreaks of violence in the halls are a disruption to classroom settings. Principal Heather McKay said she is tired of the fighting amongst students.

What can you do to make a difference in our school? “The first thing you should do when you see an act of conflict is involve an adult within the situation,” said McKay. “Next, go on about your day displaying a safe way not to attract an audience around the scene. Always make sure to let an educator know when you hear of something brewing.” Talk with your peers about better ways to try and solve conflict.

Students can expect to see officers in the halls and during lunch.
