Trojans Shut Out the Tigers For Fourth Win of Season

Atlantic’s defense kept the ADM tigers to under 100 yards of total offense.

Last Friday, Oct. 5. The Atlantic Trojans football team hosted the ADM Tigers. Coming into the game the tigers were 1-5 with there only win coming against Ballard by forefit. Atlantic was 3-3 and 1-2 in the district before the tigers and the trojans faced off.

Due to rain and possible storms in the for cast the game was moved up to 6:00 p.m. The game started off slow and the first quarter ended with a score of 0-0 with no one being able to score. In the second the trojans were able to put up 7 points off of a 2 yard td run by senior Noah Bruckner. In the third quarter after 4 possessions senior Dillon Sonntag put another touchdown on the board for the trojans. Sonntag made a couple people miss and scampered for 22 yards to the house. Late in the third quarter Senior defensive end Grant Podhajsky picked off an ADM screen and brought to the house. After the PAT was blocked the trojans were up 20-0.

ADM could not get anything going on offense and the fourth quarter was quiet till 1:30 left. Senior quarterback Jaxson Eden rolled out to his right and heaved the ball down the field and it landed in the hands of Junior tight end Logan Reilly. The trojans went for two and could not convert. Atlantic’s defense made one more stop and closed out the game with there second shut out this season winning the game 26-0.

Eden finished 16 for 23 and 196 yards in the air and ran for 14 yards on 3 attempts. Bruckner rushed for 51 on 17 attempts and Sonntag also ran for 51 yards on 6 attempts. Junior Chase Mullenix rushed for 32 yards on 12 attempts and caught 4 passes for 39 yards. Reilly had an amazing game catching 7 passes for 108 yards.

The trojans will travel to Carroll to take on the 3-4 Carroll High Tigers. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
