No event goes unplanned with this senior at Atlantic High School; Ashley Freund is going to Iowa State for management after high school. Freund said, “I like planning things” and thinks the major is “a good fit” for her. She decided on going to Iowa State because she liked the program and atmosphere of the college.

Her future isn’t the only thing Freund has a plan for. If she had a million dollars, she would invest half of it, make sure she pays her way through college, and then, “buy a 2016 Blackout Chevy Tahoe.”

This was not always her dream though. Freund said in 3rd grade she want to be an artist. Though she said “I sucked at art,” she dreamed of paint brushes instead of planners then.

Freund has participated in a variety of activities at AHS. Over the years she has participated in soccer (9th), tennis (11 & 12), student council (9,11,& 12), FFA (11&12), Friend to Friend Mentoring (9-11) and journalism (10-12). She said she enjoyed tennis, and Student Council would probably be her favorite because she likes to plan things, but ultimately she enjoyed all of them because they were fun.

Freund has achieved awards for many of the activities she has participated in. She said she was also proud of getting reserve champion on her FFA photography at county level. She also won senior division for 4-H at the Cass County Fair 2016. She even learned how to weld. Freund said her favorite high school memory was winning the spirit stick for Homecoming 2016.
