Kaitlin Behrens is reaching her final year in high school; over the years she has participated in band and choir. “Band is my favorite because of all the inside jokes and how we can’t ever talk about band camp,” Behrens said. She has been in choir for her freshman and sophomore year and in band for all four years.

After high school, she is planning on going to college at DMACC for a year to study culinary arts. She wanted to start this career because she has always loved food. She wants to own her own business. “We need better restaurant choices in Atlantic,” Behrens said.

Her goals for her future are to become a pastry chef, open a business, move into a house, and get married with a few kids and have pets. The way she will achieve these goals is by going to college and working hard. Her favorite family memory was Christmas at her great grandmas because everyone was happy. Her favorite school memory is finding a gingerbread cookie in kindergarten.

The online definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Behrens’ definition of success is following your dreams. Her advice to future seniors is, “Don’t slack, and make sure you set goals.”

“Forgettable, unique, and drama,” Behrens said, explaining her senior year in three words. One thing she will always remember is prom “because it was fun.”
