The girls golf traveled to West Des Moines on Monday April 17. The girls finished third with a 337 team score. Among the 16 teams, all of them were 4A schools besides Atlantic. They fell to Johnston who shot 331 and Waukee shot 333.

The medalist was Sydney Eaton from Mason-City with a 67. The highest Atlantic place was by Senior Brooke Newell who shot 79 which placed her fourth. Sophomores Alyssa Ginther and Bailey Newell shot 81 and 84 respectively for the Trojans as well.

Coach Kathy Hobson was happy for the team. Hobson thought it was a competitive tournament with four teams within a 7 stroke threshold of each other. The short game was the thorn in the side for the Trojans, Hobson thought the girls could’ve been better there.
