Last Thursday, the boys’ golf team played the Creston Panthers in a dual at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. The Trojans came away victories with a score of 146 to 171.
Junior Ben Renaud led the way for the Trojans and won the meet with a one-under-par score of 33. Senior Jake Olsen was the runner-up and came into the clubhouse with a score of 36. Den Beste said, “Ben played really well. He had three birdies on the day. Jake Olsen had a tough hole 2 but finished with a birdie to help the score.”
Den Beste was also happy to see senior Zac Stork and sophomore Matt Gearheart shoot in the 30s as well. He said they still have plenty of things to work on but as of right now, he thinks the team is playing well.
The next tournament is Tuesday, April 11, at Shenandoah.
