Girls Golf Kicks Off Season in Creston

Jaxson Eden and Ben Renaud

The girls golf team had their season opener in Creston on Friday April 7. The meet was originally set for Thursay but since to wet grounds it was moved to Friday. The girls came away victorious after shooting 174.

Girls golf coach Kathy Hobson said “We were hoping as a team to stay under 175 strokes as team.” They also shot five birdies which is unusual for girls golf.

A stand out in Hobson’s eyes was senior McKenna Denbeste. Hobson said “She was very good off the tee, and also hit a 33 foot birdie put”

The Trojans next meet is Monday against Kuemper who is going to be stiff competition for the Trojans this year. They will play the Knights at the Atlantic Gold and Country Club starting at 4:30
