Kicking off the soccer season, the boys will scrimmage West Central Valley on Tuesday March 28, in West Central Valley. Last year Atlantic beat this team during Substate in Stuart, 7-1. West Central Valley has ten returning seniors. Their last year’s team went 2-12.

The boys will play in Stuart, with JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 6 p.m. The Trojans have seven returning seniors: Eric Wieser, forward; Kolton Carey, mid-field; Kyle Redinbaugh, goalie; Taylor Kirchner, defence; Collin Juelsgaard, mid-field; Mitchell Ginther, defence; and Sam Barkley, defence.

Senior Eric Wieser said he feels “the scrimmage will be very beneficial for our team. It will show us how good we are and what we need to work on.” Wieser thinks they will win the game because they beat West Central Valley last year, and this year the Trojans have an even better team.

Freshmen goalie Clayton Jipsen and outside midfielder Evan Brummer said this game should be a great learning experience. Both boys also feel they will come home with the win. Brummer who said he hopes to sub for varsity is looking forward to playing with “the seniors, experienced people.” The team has a better foundation now than it has before.
