District Individual Speech Competition

On Saturday the individual speech team will go to Griswold to compete in districts. 17 AHS students are participating and competing in different events; Lit Pro, Poetry, Musical Theater, Radio News, Original Oratory, After Dinner, Spontanous, Prose, Acting, Storytelling and Improv.

 

Alex Williams in Lit Pro, Rebekah Hallman, Abby Evans and Hannah Richter competing in Poetry, Max Elwood, Sarah Fixmer and Katie Darrow competing in Musical Theater. Aaron Rothfusz will compete in Radio News, Sarah Schorle and Bryn Blanchette are competing in Original Oratory, Bryn Blanchette, Ethan Simmons and Sarah Schorle will compete in After Dinner. Paige Bennett and Gabe Martinez are competing in the Spontenous, Josh McLean and Katie Darrow competing in Prose, Trinity Zynda and Ethan Simmons competing in Acting, Trinity Zynda and Josh McLean competing in Storytelling and Max Elwood and McKayla Weppler competing in Improv.

 

One thing Alex Bales, one of the speech coaches here at Atlantic, hopes that every student who participates in speech will gain from the experience is, “The biggest one is confidence. You want a student to be confident in talking in front of people and have a positive manner when they walk into the room.”
