Last Tuesday, the Atlantic Trojan wrestlers wrestled for a spot into the state duals at home against Harlan, Red Oak, and Humboldt.

Coach Duff says he is excited for the program and his kids on making it to state duals. This is the first experience for all of the kids on this years team. This will be the 4th appearance in the last 9 years according to Duff.

Duff said that he is very excited about the program, and his wrestlers. He also said that it was a “great team effort up and down the line-up. I truly thought it was a great team effort, for the most part everyone fought hard for the team and competed with great effort.”

Heading into the first round of the State Wrestling tournament, the Trojans will be facing off against a tough squad from Washington, Iowa. Duff knows they have a very good line-up and are well coached.

“Our goals (for state) are the same as they are for every practice or every competition we have.  We want to go out and give our best effort.  Go as hard as we can, for as long as we can.  That’s still our definition of success.”
