Trojans Take Down the Rams for the Second Time This Season

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams traveled to Glenwood for their second match-up of the season.
From the beginning, Glenwood showed more of an ambition than what was seen during their first match-up of the season. The Rams’, Nate Mohr, scored two three’s putting them up 6-2 right away.
The Trojans fought to gain the lead the entire the quarter, but were unable to finish on top after the first. Glenwood was leading 17-15. After only eight minutes, Mohr led Glenwood with 11 points, and junior Scott Leonard led Atlantic with nine.
At halftime, the Rams still held the lead at 35-31.
Out of the locker room the Trojans were able to get their offense together, and take the lead early on in the third. The team finished the quarter ahead of the Rams 59-45.
In the fourth the Trojans were able to hold their lead over the Rams, and finish the game for their second win against the Rams, 68-62.
Leonard led for the Trojans in points with 22, and 11 rebounds. Senior Garrett Franken was close behind in points with 21, and leading with 17 rebounds. Junior Austin Alexander had 13 points by the end of the night.
The Trojans’ next game is tomorrow, Jan. 13, at home against Lewis Central. The Titans will be a tough opponent for the Trojans with a record of 8-2 to Atlantic’s 8-3 record.
