On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the boys’ basketball team traveled to Harlan to take on the Cyclones. The Trojans started off the night with the freshmen team, which lost for the third time this season. The JV and varsity teams came next, and also fell to the Cyclones.

The varsity team lost their third straight game, and moved their record 6-3.

In all four quarters the game the Trojans kept it close, but could not pull through in the end to win.

The Trojans took the lead at the end of the first, 13-12.

At the half, junior Austin Alexander sunk a half court shot to lead the Cyclones 39-32. Alexander finished the half with five 3 points shots.

Right out of the locker room, the Cyclones quickly closed the gap and eventually tied the game 52-52 to start off the fourth.

It came down to the last few seconds of the game, with a constant back and forth battle from both teams.

The Trojans had the last possession of the ball, but the shot was missed.

Harlan defeated Atlantic 74-71.

The Trojans’ next game is, Jan. 6, in Denison.
