This coming Thursday AHS will be holding a Heavy Equipment Day in the back parking lot of the high school. The activity is held by the School to Work Foundation, lead by Joanne Ruyun.
Students and faculty are not to park in the back parking lot after 5pm, Wednesday, and all day Thursday as they will be using that space for the equipment.
The operation will last all school day, running from 8-3:30. Mr. Miller said, “any student that take an ag class, or an industrial arts class can participate.”
Lindeman Tractor of Atlantic will be providing a New Holland tractor and skid loader. Duke Aerial will provide a scissor lift and a 40-foot boom sky lift. Ziegler CAT will also be providing machinery and equipment also, Miller said.
In previous years parent permission forms have had to be sent home and returned signed in order for students to participate and operate the machinery. Mr. Miller said that is not the case this year.
