Meet a Senior That Made His Last Statement: Nate Moen
November 6, 2016
After finishing his final season as a Trojan football player, senior Nate Moen was mentioned to be one of the biggest leaders on the team.
Moen played center and left tackle, along with playing on the defensive line this 2016 season.
He has been playing football ever since he can remember. “I like the physicality about it best,” Moen said.
“My favorite part of football since my freshman year has been all of the great guys I have had the opportunity of playing with. I will miss the brotherhood and team aspect that comes along with the sport,” said Moen.
This year, the football team practiced every day after school, and lifted weights in the mornings. They also watched film before each game to prepare.
Moen said, “I took the small things more important this year, and became more dedicated.”
He received the Trojan block award once this season. This award is given to the player with the best or biggest tackle of the game.
Moen’s favorite part of this past season was when the team went bowling for one of their team night’s. The team had a team night every Thursday before their games on Friday.
“As a team, this season we worked on coming together more. We improved our self esteem and confidence, along with keeping the tempo up. I hope that the future years of Trojan football will continue to come together as a team, along with becoming victorious on the field,” said Moen.
Moen is also involved in wrestling and FFA.
Moen said, “I do not really have a favorite activity. Each one serves a different purpose in my life, and each one teaches me different things.”
As a senior, Moen was able to make an impactful statement on the Trojan football team as being not only a team captain, but a team leader.
