The Atlantic Trojan soccer girls are back on track after winning on Monday, April 25. The girls won their first game of the season with a score of 4-3.

Senior and team captain Maddie Helvie said, “It feels really good to have the first win of the season.”

Junior Danyelle Hass scored 1 of the 4 goals, and sophomore Olivia Hemphill scored the other 3 goals.

Volunteer coach Marcus Upchurch said that the girls were “definitely more aggressive in last night’s game and the offense was able to get more in sync, which led to Hemphill making three goals.”

The team has been working on drills in practice that focus on aggressiveness and awareness on the field.

Helvie said, “The team has a more focused warm up and have been passing better on the field.”

The girls have started to take the quote by baseball player Joe Maddon, “Do simple better” to heart.
