Girls Track Competes in Lewis Central

On Tuesday, the girls and boys traveled to Lewis Central for a co-ed meet that held 10 teams. The girls place 8th overall with 53 points. There were several 4A schools that showed up to the meet, and seemed to dominate the field.

In the field events the girls struggled in shot put, but came out with a 8th place medal as sophomore Sidney Svoboda threw a 32’1”. Cheyenne Elliott didn’t place, but threw 30’6”. In the discuss, Svoboda and Elliott snagged 7th and 8th place respectively. Junior Alexis Brockman took home bronze in the high jump. She jumped 4’8”.

To start out the running events, Senior Tiffany Williams placed 2nd in the 3000 with a time of 10:59, and freshman Karsyn Rush didn’t place, but ran a 12:11.

In the 4×800 the girls placed 8th with a time of 12:06. That relay consisted of Parker, Williams, Behrends, Zikuda in order. Heidi Williams, a freshman, ran her best time of the year, running a 2:58 tied for the best split in that event alongside fellow freshman Sierra Parker.

Moving on the the shuttle hurdle relay, the girls placed 3rd and ran a time of 1:14. Freshman Tyzha Clark and junior Madelyn Kickland both PR’d in that event. The distance medley received 5th place with a time of 4:51. The girls on that team consisted of Bailey Schildberg, Taylor Hansen, Deanna Roark, and Cambry Miller.

Tiffany Williams had another good night running the 1500, taking home the crown with a time of 5:04.

To end the night the girls 4×400 team came out with place and ran a time of 4:33. Hansen and Charity Williams both ran personal records in that event with times of 66.8 and 69.9 respectively.

The next track meet is Thursday at Carroll, which is co-ed.
