SCOUT REPORT: Atlantic Girls Prepare to Take on Lewis Central

The Trojans look to defend their home court against Lewis Central, an undefeated team on the road.

The Atlantic Trojans girls basketball team prepares to take on the Lewis Central Titans (10-1) Friday night at Atlantic High School. The Trojans are 6-6 on the season, going 3-2 in front of their home crowd while the Titans are undefeated on the road.

 

Atlantic is looking to rebound off of a loss to Glenwood Tuesday night at home falling just short, 37-40. Lewis Central is coming off of a three game win streak after suffering their only loss to the Harlan Cyclones at home on Dec. 18, 2015. The Titans fell 43-40 to the current 10-1 Cyclones.

 

As a team the Atlantic girls shoot 44 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arch, while shooting 64 percent from the charity stripe. Meanwhile the Titans are pretty even connecting 42 percent of their shots, 24 percent of three-pointers and 67 percent from the free throw line.

 

Atlantic senior Erin Olsen leads the team averaging 17.3 points per game and 207 points this season who is currently second in the Hawkeye Ten and eighth in 3A. Titans sophomore Meagan Holt has 164 points through 11 games. Catherine Leonard of Atlantic is sixth in the Hawkeye Ten with 88 total rebounds averaging 7.3 per game. Lewis Central senior Kye Madsen is fourth in assists in 4A with 53.
