PREVIEW: Atlantic Girls Basketball Take on Glenwood Rams

The Atlantic girls basketball team prepares to take on the Glenwood Rams at home Tuesday night in the Atlantic High School gymnasium.

The 6-5 Trojans look to extend their winning streak to two games after a 53-41 win over Denison-Schleswig Friday night in Denison. Atlantic began the season 4-0 before losing back to back road games to Creston and Glenwood.

The 6-4 Rams are currently on a five game winning streak after starting their 2015-2016 season 1-4. Glenwood defeated Kuemper Catholic Friday evening 47-39, dropping the Knights’ record to 3-6.

Atlantic senior Erin Olsen is currently the Hawkeye Ten’s second leading scorer, with 196 points throughout 11 games. Olsen also shoots 34.8% from beyond the three point line while senior Tiffany Williams leads the team with the highest shooting percentage, connecting with 58.6% of her shots.

Rams senior Danika Lucy shoots 62.6% from the field, scoring 144 points throughout 9 games, standing fourth in the Hawkeye Ten.

Atlantic’s junior, Catherine Leonard, and Glenwood’s Lucy are tied for second in the conference in rebounds, each with 77.
