Hawkeye 10 top scorers battle on the Mustang court

Friday, Dec. 18, the Atlantic boys’ basketball team will travel to Shenandoah to face off against the Mustangs. The Trojans are 5-0 while the Mustangs are 3-2.

Atlantic and Shenandoah come into the game evenly matched with the Trojans averaging 65.8 points a game and the Mustangs averaging 64.6. Both teams have been passing the ball well as they are 1st and 2nd in the conference in assists. Shenandoah has 92 and Atlantic has 81.

The Trojans’ defense has been on a prowl this year as they are first in the Hawkeye Ten with 65 steals and 31 blocks.
Meanwhile the Mustangs have had 49 steals and 17 blcoks. 

Shenandoah and Atlantic have the leading scorers in the conference. Makonn Anderson for Shenandoah is first with 125 points and Ryan Hawkins for Atlantic is second with 111. Jake Cerven for Shenandoah has 78 points while Garrett Franken for Atlantic has 86.

Both teams have one common opponent in Creston. Shenandoah beat Creston by 35 points while the Trojans beat them by 21. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
