Nora Walker came to AHS on Tuesday, Nov. 24, to teach English with her sister, Emma Walker, and English teacher Allison Berryhill. Walker is a senior at Iowa State University and she will graduate in the spring of 2016.

Walker is studying English, and plans to teach at the high-school level. She would like to stay here in Iowa to teach. If not at AHS, she plans to teach in the Des Moines or Ames area.

Walker is not certified to teach yet. She will complete her student teaching in Ames next semester. Walker said English teacher Allison Berryhill inspired her to become a teacher.

“The hardest thing about college is the amount of work at a high level,” Walker said.

Walker attended Exira until her sophomore year, then graduated from Atlantic High School in 2012. Walker is not married. Her siblings are Anna, Joey, and Emma Walker.
