Walk Throughs at AHS
October 20, 2015
Walk throughs were performed by faculty of the Atlantic Community School District at AHS on Wednesday, Sept. 30. These are a way for school personnel to collect data about teachers, their teaching styles, and how they interact with their students. There are three types of walk throughs that you may see throughout the school year: informal, formal, and classroom implementation profiles.
Classroom implementation profiles were done on Wednesday morning and are usually done by various administrators of the district. Whoever happens to be performing the walk throughs look for data that falls within these four standards: depth of knowledge, high-order thinking, substantive conversation, and value beyond school.
There will be multiple times throughout the school year where students may notice data being collected on how a teacher runs the classroom and what goes on within the class period.
